My wife Dallis and I were fortunate to travel to New York and Vermont in later September and early October this year. She took some amazing photographs on our trip, and I asked her to select five of her favorite ones that I could share with you here. I have indicated my best recollection of locations. Please enjoy! (You can click on a photo to enlarge it.)
We spent one afternoon in the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn where we discovered some beautiful ponds.
In Vermont we drove many back roads to explore parts of the state you can’t see from the main roads. Here is one serene setting we discovered off the beaten path.
We visited the historic village of Grafton, Vermont, and had great fun walking the quiet streets near the brook running through town!
As we drove one day through parts of upstate New York, we stumbled upon a cemetery in Salem where there are more Revolutionary War soldiers buried than anywhere else in Washington County.
All of these gorgeous photos represent wonderful memories of a shared experience, which is especially exemplified in this last photo of Vermont fall colors!
Remember my friends that this world is a place of beauty and blessing!
Open your eyes to all of life’s glorious colors, textures, and experiences!

Oh joy! Thank you both for sharing this incredible journey. The photos look like oil paintings!
Hi Dianne. Yes, many of them do look like paintings. If we had more wall space we would definitely frame them and put them up. We enjoyed the crisp air and wonderful fall smells too! It was a great trip.
Beautiful, refreshed my soul!
Thanks, Janet.
These photographs really are beautifully painterly are they really just the photographs or did you do post-processing to them and not mention it? (I am and artist experienced in both painting and photography.)
So glad to find your blog. I truly believe it to be a “God-thing.” I run a blog/website called Dream.Pray.Create. and found your blog amidst the search listings of mine. I have added your blog to my Google reader and I look forward to more of your sharings of the gospel and commentary on a contemporary Christian worldview.
Thanks for visiting my blog, Andrea. The photographs in this post and most of my other posts are taken by my wife Dallis. She did do some post-processing on several of them to make them look more like paintings but since I don’t know anything about that process I’m not able to give any more specific explanation than that. I’ll take a look at your blog too, and thanks again for reading and commenting on mine. Mark
