Sometimes
When I turn the volume down
I hear the earth breathe –
An unmistakable longing
Reverberating from deep in the center of being
Its source unbound from all the limits we know –
And in the twinkling of an eye
I am overcome with gratitude
For the pure boldness of such love.

How beautiful!!!
Nice.
Wow, I needed to read this today. Thank you!!
“Bold love”, as it is recognized In Christ, is so powerful and transformative. I am blessed to have received that kind of love from a couple people. God bless you and the fam–love, sis Caddo
This is wonderful, thank you.
Incredibly wise poetry, paired beautifully with a peaceful photo. Thank you for sharing this uplifting post. Blessings, Gina
A wonderful reminder of what it means to observe a holy Lent.
Love the start:
“Sometimes
When I turn the volume down
I hear the earth breathe -”
Sets my mind at ease –
Makes me want to please
The One who sees
All we seize,
Makes me want
To seize less
And please
More.
May I share this poem on my blog (in silence waits)? Lovely. Thank you!
Yes, you may. Thanks for asking. Mark
Genuine love is indeed the ultimate form of boldness–and humility. What an excellent meditation on this gift.
Great Post!
Such beautiful words and a gentle reminder for us to pause and listen in a noisy, hectic world. I am reminded of the fable of Old Turtle and the Broken Truth, that we used in a women’s retreat last weekend to ponder who the ‘other’ was in our lives.
