On the road
work beckoning
a daily duty
to be productive
to be hard at work
to be diligent in all things
to be focused on the important
to be tied to the meeting of goals
to be steadily progressing in the disciplined life
Only to be stopped in my tracks
stalled into awareness
dared to open my eyes
to the morning unfolding
in the periphery
where the land rises from the depths
in ways that mirror our own emergence
as living beings
within the large and beautiful Ground of all Being
Here the stillness refreshes
and releases me
to live
in the now
in the now of eternity
Words (c) 2015 Mark Lloyd Richardson
I just got out of my bed and looking out my window caught a gorgeous sunrise this morning here in MN. Next I read your lovely words – what a grand way to start my day! Thanks for sharing your wonderful poem.
Thanks so much, Maggie! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season with friends and family up north.
I cannot tell you how much I love this! It’s exactly how I hoped you would see that “opportunity!” Soo beautifully expressed…and the photo is awesome!!
Thank you, sweetheart! I’m trying to learn to take “opportunities!”
I keep reading your words over and over again…thank you so much for sharing. And, the photo is beautiful.
Thank you, Sue. I’m glad you enjoyed these words and photo. Sometimes experiences just surprise us in their simple joy.
got stopped by shattering my shoulder, but midst the pain, the tender patient care giving by my husband filled me with the joyous total knowing that i am deeply loved. It does help that God sometimes still wears skin, the dozen brilliant cardinals at the feeders remind me of beauty and your post brings the gifts of truth and wisdom, all of which bring me back to the presence of God even in suffering. Thanks be….
