Fourteen years ago, I began this blog in the hopes that it would provide a meeting place with friends and readers where I could share my poetry and reflections on life and faith.
Dreamprayact.com has provided me with just such a place. However, in recent years, even with my retirement from full-time pastoral ministry and ostensibly more free time, I have not utilized this blog as I had expected.
So, it’s time for a writing reset. I will be discontinuing this blog.
I am still writing, mostly poetry, and even submitting a few poems for possible publication. I continue to work on my craft and am finding new opportunities to learn through writing classes and groups.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll get a poem or two published someday. Maybe I’ll even gather together a collection of poems that I can put out into the world.
My focus right now is simply to do more writing and to develop more of a daily discipline in my writing and reading.
I’m not sure where any of this will lead, and in a way it doesn’t matter. The real value of writing is the time and effort I spend attending to what gives life meaning – beauty, friendship, love, family, community, honesty, grace.
Thank you all for the times you have read and/or commented on what I have shared here.
I’ve enjoyed your poetry and especially your insights. May the next phase of your creative life bring you new insights and much joy!
Thanks, Robynne!
blessing upon this turn of focus. I’m sure it will yield fruit in a new way
Thank you, Sharon.
Mark: I have enjoyed the poetry and the thoughts that you have expressed online. I hope you find peace in your “retirement” from Dreamprayact!
I appreciate it, Cliff.
Best wishes to you, Mark. I’ve enjoyed your writing these past many years. I suspect something may pop up again from you ✍️

Thank you, Jane. It might indeed.
How lucky we feel to have been the recipient of all your written words expressing joy, grief, growth, love, new life. So will these still be available to us in an archived form to look back on and enjoy anew each time? Blessings as you continue to stretch these muscles.
Love
Thank you, Patti. I’m not sure how the archiving will work, or whether you’ll be able to view the blog. Hopefully it will still be available as an archive, but I guess we’ll have to see.
Hi Mark – Has it been 14 yrs since you started? My, time does fly by doesn’t it?
While I will miss your occasional postings, I understand your need undertake a fresh perspective on things you have been doing for a while. Sometimes these changes are thrust upon us, at other times, change seems the right direction to take. I’m glad this is something that might result in refocusing your writing talents. I look forward to reading your poetry and reflections and hope you find a place to post in addition to FB which I very rarely am on.
Take care and happy new year! Hugs to you, Chris and Bailey, Suzanne
